Alumnus and Yoco CEO, Katlego Maphai, Inspires CBC Learners
We were honoured to welcome back Katlego Maphai, co-founder and CEO of Yoco, and proud alumnus of CBC Mount Edmund (Class of 2001). Katlego returned to the College to address our High School learners in what proved to be an unforgettable and inspiring engagement..

This special visit came about through the initiative of one of our current Grade 11 learners, Oagile, who reached out directly to Katlego with a heartfelt invitation. True to his character, Katlego accepted without hesitation, seeing it as an opportunity to connect with the next generation of CBC learners.
In his address, Katlego spoke openly about his journey of entrepreneurship, highlighting both his successes and struggles after leaving CBC Mount Edmund. He shared valuable insights on finding one’s identity, building resilience, and embracing challenges as opportunities for growth. His message resonated deeply with our learners, encouraging them to remain authentic, bold, and innovative in their pursuits.

His story stands as a powerful reminder to our learners that the path to success is seldom straightforward, but perseverance and belief in one’s values make all the difference.
