Alumnus turned College Principal

Mr Derek Bradley

We are thrilled to announce the return of Mr. Bradley as our new College Principal! An esteemed alumnus of CBC Mount Edmund, Mr. Bradley first walked these halls as a student, matriculating in 1976. His journey in education began shortly after, as he pursued his undergraduate degree at the University of Natal, graduating in 1982.

Mr. Bradley embarked on his teaching career in 1983 in Durban, where he inspired countless students while teaching Physical Science and coaching various sports, including rugby, cricket, athletics, and squash. His dedication to both academics and athletics has defined his impressive career, during which he has held teaching and leadership positions at several notable institutions, including Port Shepstone High School, Thomas More College, St Benedict’s College, and St John’s College.

In 2015, Mr. Bradley took on the role of Headmaster at Parktown Boys High School, and by 2017, he was leading Woodridge College in the Eastern Cape. His commitment to education extends beyond the classroom; he is a firm believer in lifelong learning, having completed an honours degree and two Master’s degrees—one in Education and another in Business.

Mr. Bradley’s educational philosophy emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach, where academics, sports, and cultural pursuits coexist to foster well-rounded individuals. As he steps into his role, we look forward to the positive impact he will undoubtedly have on our students and the community.

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Bradley back to his roots! We are excited about the future under his leadership.
