Little MountEarly Child Development

The Early Learning And Development Areas (ELDA) Curriculum Programme

At Little Mount, our Early Learning and Development Areas (ELDAs) programme forms the foundation of everything we do in the classroom. It focuses on nurturing the whole child — helping each child grow socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually through age-appropriate, play-based learning experiences.

Through the ELDA framework, our teachers create a warm, stimulating environment where learning happens naturally through play. This sets the stage for lifelong learning and ensures each child is ready and excited for the next phase of their educational journey.

Building Bright Futures — One Little Step at a Time

At Little Mount, we believe that every child’s early years are the foundation for a lifetime of learning, growth, and happiness. That’s why our Early Childhood Development (ECD) programme is designed to nurture the whole child — socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively — in a safe and stimulating environment.

Learning Through Play

Children learn best when they’re having fun! Our classrooms and outdoor spaces are designed for hands-on discovery and imaginative play. Every activity — from building blocks and story time to painting and outdoor games — encourages curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Through play, our children learn how to:

  • Express themselves confidently

  • Work together and share with others

  • Develop fine and gross motor skills

  • Build early literacy and numeracy foundations

A Nurturing Environment

Our caring teachers understand that each child develops at their own pace. With small class sizes and personalised attention, we create a warm, family-like atmosphere where children feel loved, safe, and free to explore.

We place strong emphasis on emotional well-being and positive relationships, helping our little ones develop empathy, resilience, and a healthy self-esteem.

Holistic Growth and School Readiness

Our ELDA Teaching Approach

At Little Mount, we follow the ELDA (Early Learning and Development Areas) approach, a play-based method that helps children learn and grow in a natural, joyful way.

This approach focuses on the whole child, helping them develop socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually. Through guided play, exploration, stories, and creative activities, children discover the world around them while building confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning.

Rooted in CBC Mount Edmund’s Christian ethos, our teaching encourages kindness, respect, and a sense of purpose. We nurture each child in a caring environment where faith, love, and learning come together to help them reach their full potential.

A Place to Belong

At Little Mount, every child is valued and celebrated. We partner closely with parents, creating a shared journey of growth and discovery. Together, we ensure that each child’s early learning experience lays a strong foundation for lifelong success — academically, socially, and emotionally.
